Georgia O'Keeffe

The art exhibit I chose to visit was the The Van Vechten momentum at Fisk University. The artwork and artist that Im riposte to discuss is by Georgia OKeeffe named The Radiator Building, Night 1927. OKeeffe enrolled at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1905 and two years later attended the Art Students conference in New York City and studied under William Merritt Chase. In her early years she taught in schools and colleges. While she was teaching in Amarillo, Texas it is believed she gained her infatuation with the terrain of the Southwest. In 1916 Alfred Stieglitz , her soon to be husband, gave her the opportunity to taper her artwork in his gallery the 291. And in 1917 he gave OKeeffe her first solo parade.
